Hull City Council first to achieve prestigious TPAS accreditation
Hull has become the first council to achieve the prestigious Tenant Participation Advisory Service (TPAS) accreditation for resident involvement.
A new premier league of high performing housing landlords is emerging. They are united by their commitment to good services underpinned by effective resident Involvement.
Hull City Council is a large landlord with over 28,000 homes. It is a significant achievement to be the first council to achieve the challenging TPAS accreditation for resident involvement.
As with football, Hull City Council has joined the premier league of housing providers.
TPAS Chair Sara Thakker (pictured) warmly welcomed the achievement. She said: “As the first Local Authority to gain the TPAS Landlord Accreditation Award Hull City Council have shown
the way forward for Local Authorities both in terms of being excellent in involving tenants and in preparing for April 2010 when the Tenant Services Authority is due to take on regulation of local
authority owned housing.
"This shows that housing excellence exists across all parts of social housing tenure”.
A statement from Hull City Council, said: “Hull City Council are proud to be the first local authority to obtain the prestigious TPAS accreditation for resident involvement.
"This mark of quality highlights the progress the Housing service has made in recent years. Not only is Hull in the premier league for football. It is in the premier league for resident
participation.”
