Dementia care seminarDementia care seminar

Experts in the field of dementia care will be guest speakers at a Sanctuary Care seminar at Hatfield Nursing Home in Hertfordshire on Tuesday, November 11th.

Guests at the dementia care seminar will include Maria Parsons, Executive Director at the London Centre for Dementia Care, who will talk about improving the quality of care in homes.

Jill Manthrope, Professor of Social Work and Director of the Social Care Workforce Research Unit, Kings College London, will give a talk on the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and key messages for care staff.

Meanwhile Jennifer Wenborn, Clinical Research Fellow in Occupational Therapy, University College London & North East London Foundation NHS Trust will discuss the provision of activities for older people in care homes.

The theme for the day will be Promoting Rights and Keeping Active best practice in care homes for older people with dementia.

Maria Parsons said: Sanctuary Care is committed to improving the quality of care for people with dementia in its care homes. This seminar offers an excellent opportunity for professionals and families to meet and discuss best practice with leading researchers in the field of dementia care.
